Hey, Builder Base chief!

Looking for the strongest Builder Base layouts that actually defend? Whether you're trying to push trophies or win versus battles, having the right layout is key. In this post, we've handpicked top-performing bases for Builder Hall 4 through Builder Hall 10 — tested and optimized for the current meta.

Let’s first look at why your current base might not be doing its job.

Why Your Base Keeps Getting 3-Starred — and How to Fix It

Most players don’t realize their base is making basic mistakes until it’s too late. Here are the common reasons your base might be failing — and how to fix them:

  • Wrong base type: Using anti-air bases against ground-heavy attacks (or vice versa) makes your layout easy to beat.

  • Trap mistakes: Push Traps flinging troops into the base might actually help attackers. Mismatched trap types (e.g., air mines when you’re only facing ground spam) also reduce defense potential.

  • Poor defense placement: Key defenses like Crushers or Roasters sitting too close to the edges can be easily sniped by Archers or Minions.

  • Copying bases blindly: A popular layout might work — but only if you adapt it to your specific troop levels, defense levels, and the meta you’re facing.

Fixing just one or two of these can instantly make your base harder to beat.

▶️ Best Builder Hall 4 Trophy Base + 🔗 Link

🔗 Copy BH4 Trophy Base Link

This Builder Hall 4 base uses an open-wall funneling strategy to bait attackers straight into its most punishing defenses. Gaps in the outer walls manipulate troop pathing, drawing high HP troops like Giants and Battle Machines directly into the Crusher and a concentrated core defense zone.

Even if attackers use Wall Breakers or approach from different angles, the design ensures they still get funneled into heavy fire. The core is tightly packed, making it tough for support troops to survive once tanks are down.

Air attackers don’t fare much better — firecracker, Tesla, and geared archer towers are spread to give full base coverage, keeping Baby Dragons and Minions in check.

Defends: BH5 Ground Spam, Giants + Archers, Mass Barbarians, Mass Archers, Baby Dragons + Minions.

▶️ Best Builder Hall 5 Trophy Base + 🔗 Link

🔗 Copy BH5 Trophy Base Link

This Builder Hall 5 trophy base uses a brutal wall layout to bait and punish ground and air attackers alike. The core is tightly defended, with the Builder Hall surrounded by splash and point defenses.

Strategic open walls at 4:30 trick ground units into a crusher kill zone, while dead zones at 1:30 and 10:30 cause poor pathing and funneling issues. Attackers approaching from 10:30 often watch their troops circle the base while getting shredded by cannons and splash.

Air defenses are baited near the edge to mislead attackers, but strong coverage from dual firecrackers, air bombs, and geared archer towers ensures air pushes get wrecked before reaching the core.

Defends: Night Witches, Giants + Barbs, BARCH, Cannon Carts, Minions + Baby Dragons, Battle Machine pushes — even with funneling.

▶️ Best Builder Hall 6 Trophy Base + 🔗 Link

🔗 Copy BH6 Trophy Base Link

This BH6 trophy base features a deceptively open builder hall compartment that manipulates AI pathing into a double-crusher kill zone. Attackers from both top and bottom face brutal punishment: the top side is avoided entirely due to devastating splash from air bombs and the multi mortar wiping out bats and Night Witches.

The bottom side, while seemingly safer, is a trap lined with high DPS cannons, multi mortar, and Roadster. Even if troops push past the first layers, two crushers and hidden mines shut them down at the core. Guard Post troops also create clutch distractions, especially against heroes.

Stage 2 is simple but deadly, with a central double cannon, wide archer tower coverage, and a sneaky Tesla to finish off anything that survives.

Defends: Giant-Cannon Cart pushes, Barb spam, Night Witches (even from BH8!), and mixed ground-air armies. Zero stage-two clears in testing.

▶️ Best Builder Hall 7 Trophy Base + 🔗 Link

🔗 Copy BH7 Trophy Base Link

This BH7 trophy base uses a diamond-style anti-2-star layout that forces attackers to walk around the base. The builder hall is deep-centered with a wall structure that defeats improper funneling—Night Witches and other troops often fail to enter the core, stalling out early.

Top side is built for anti-air dominance, with archer towers, firecrackers, and air bombs concentrating massive DPS. Air spam like Baby Dragons, Minions, or Battle Copters gets shredded before any value is gained.

Bottom side counters ground pushes with all 4 cannons stacked for high DPS and a Roadster that covers both air and ground with splash. Even giants get melted fast, and Night Witches clump up and die to splash from crushers and bombs.

Stage 2 appears weak at first (2 crushers, cannon, and multi mortar), but it’s designed for clean-up, not main defense. By then, attackers are nearly out of troops. Hidden Teslas, mega mines, and push traps clean up whatever’s left.

Defends: Night Witch spam, Giant-Witch combos, Baby Dragon armies, Mass Minions, and mixed pushes. Only one defense resulted in a 5-star; most ended at stage 1 or with a stage 2 zero-star.

▶️ Best Builder Hall 8 Trophy Base + 🔗 Link

🔗 Copy BH8 Trophy Base Link

This BH8 trophy base annihilates ground armies in Stage 1, thanks to smart wall design and stacked splash defenses. The base uses a centralized core with a surrounding trash layer that funnels troops into tight clumps, perfect for splash damage from multimortar, roaster, crushers, and the giant cannon.

Corner-only entry points prevent attackers from spreading troops wide. Most end up entering from the bottom (bait), running straight into a splash kill zone. Top side bait is equally deadly—troops skip the Mega Tesla (targeting firecrackers first), but get zapped all the way through.

The outside cannons chip away while the core defenses stay protected. Even without traps, splash alone handles entire pushes. Ground and air both get wrecked due to how tightly grouped they are by the funnel design.

Stage 2 switches to a diamond-style anti-2-star layout. Hidden Teslas near the auto hut (bottom side) and a crusher-backed trap funnel at the top destroy what's left of the army. Since most troops die in stage 1, stage 2 usually ends in zero stars.

Defends: Night Witch spam, Giant-Archer combos, Pekka smash, Battle Copter pushes, and Mass Minions. Only a few attacks even reached Stage 2 with meaningful troops, and nearly all ended with zero or two stars.

▶️ Best Builder Hall 9 Trophy Base + 🔗 Link

🔗 Copy BH9 Trophy Base Link

This BH9 base destroys Night Witches in Stage 1, thanks to a trap pathing setup that funnels them straight into mega mines and double cannons. Smart wall placement and lack of trash buildings bait attackers into predictable routes where splash defenses dominate. Even PEKKA spam fails as they get clumped and wiped by the giant cannon.

Ground defense:

  • Witches walk into bombs and mega mines.

  • Pekkas clump up in the core and get wrecked.

  • Guard Post troops and smart funneling delay attackers, stacking defense value.

Air defense:

  • Air bomb + mega mine trap combo near bait points.

  • Firecrackers and air bombs shred clumped air spam.

  • Even Beta Minions struggle to clear stage one cleanly.

Stage 2 is an anti-2-star core setup with splash and point defense on all sides. Lava launcher, crushers, hidden Teslas, and traps make it brutal even for surviving troops.

Defends: Night Witch spam, Pekka smash, Beta Minions, Dropship armies. Most attacks end at 1 or 2 stars, with many failing to clear Stage 1.

▶️ Best Builder Hall 10 Trophy Base + 🔗 Link

🔗 Copy BH10 Trophy Base Link

This Builder Hall 10 base uses a well-balanced anti-3-star design that effectively counters both air and ground attacks.

Air-targeting defenses like air bombs and firecrackers are placed deeper within the base, protected behind layers of buildings. This delays air troops, allowing splash damage to cripple swarms like bats, minions, or baby dragons. Traps are set to air mode for early disruption. The core layout funnels ground troops into a high-DPS zone featuring the Mega Tesla and Multi Mortar, ensuring they’re hit from all sides.

Stage 2 ramps up the defense with crushers, cannons, and a lava launcher guarding the Auto Hut. Hidden Teslas add even more stopping power against both air and ground units.

Defends: Night Witches + Bats, Baby Dragons, Beta Minions, Drop Ships, PEKKA + Cannon Carts, Ground Spam.

How to Choose the Right Base for Your Playstyle

Not every base is one-size-fits-all. Here's how to pick (or build) the right one for your goals:

  • Trophy pushing? Go for anti-2-star bases with core defenses and baited paths to punish overconfidence.

  • Casual play? Use versatile bases that defend well against both air and ground spam.

The higher you go in BH levels, the more important it is to rotate layouts and keep attackers guessing.
