A decent layout won’t make you invincible—but it will:

• Slow down dumb spam attacks

• Protect storages while you’re upgrading stuff

• Give your traps a chance to actually do something

Even if you're rushing (no shame, we’ve all done it), you still want your base to look like some thought went into it.

The Struggle Is Real: What We Wish We Knew at TH4

At TH4, the biggest enemy is… you.
You, placing your mortar outside the walls.

Real tip: Put the mortar smack in the center. People love spamming Barbarians and one mortar shot will make them regret life.

TH5 Bases That Don’t Fold in 10 Seconds

Welcome to Balloon Season. TH5 is when air attacks suddenly get spicy—and dumb layouts just get roasted.

These designs tighten things up with narrow compartments that funnel troops exactly where we want them. Air defense + Archer Towers cover all the key zones and force attackers to overcommit. And yep, it still works against spam drops.

TH6 Bases: The First Real Test? Kinda.

Common Base Mistakes (That Still Haunt Us at TH17)

Even maxed players still make these—so yeah, don't feel bad:

• Symmetry obsession: You’re building a base, not designing a logo.

• Double storages = double pain: Don’t stack gold + elixir together unless you're asking to be robbed.

• Trap stacking: One balloon will eat all your air bombs in one go. Spread. Them. Out.

• Useless decorations: That torch isn’t intimidating anyone.

Honestly though, one of us legit once put a Spring Trap facing away from the walls. Nothing happened. Ever.

Do You Even Need a “Good” Base at Low TH? Hot Take.

Short answer: kinda.
Long answer: not if you log in every few hours and don’t care about trophies.

But if you’re farming for upgrades (especially on F2P grind), a solid base just makes life easier. Less rage. More loot. Fewer awkward clan chat questions like “why is your gold storage on the outside?”

Is a good base everything? No.
Is a dumb base gonna get bullied? 100%.
