  • She doesn't attack directly — her entire value comes from summoning Ruin Knights out of destroyed building rubble
  • Ruin Knights are tanky, high-damage units that deal bonus damage to walls — they're essentially free wall-breakers and frontline fighters rolled into one
  • She needs rubble to work — deploy her too early and she stands idle; deploy her behind a frontline that's already clearing buildings and she generates value non-stop
  • She can't jump walls — pathing matters; a broken funnel cuts her off from the action entirely
  • Housing Space: 26 — she's not cheap, so army composition needs to be deliberate

How to Use the Ruin Witch Effectively at TH18

These principles apply regardless of which army you run:

  • Deploy her behind your frontline, never ahead of it — Root Riders, Dragon Riders, or Heroes should be hitting buildings first
  • Wait for the first few buildings to fall before dropping her — she needs rubble immediately, not in 30 seconds
  • Keep her close to the main push — if she gets separated, Ruin Knights spawn away from the action and the value is wasted
  • Plan your funnel — she can't jump walls, so the entry path needs to be clean before she goes in
  • Pair with the Angry Spell if you need troops to prioritize defenses quickly — more buildings down faster means more Knights spawned sooner

Why It Works

Throwers are relentless pushers that shred through compartments — and every building they destroy feeds the Ruin Witches behind them. The result is a self-sustaining loop: Throwers create rubble, Ruin Witches convert it into Ruin Knights, and those Knights tank the incoming damage so the Throwers stay alive longer. The Dragon Duke opens the funnel and removes key defenses early, giving the whole push a clean path in.

How to Run It

  1. Deploy the Dragon Duke at a corner or side of the base — don't pop his ability immediately, let him walk closer to the defenses first
  2. Drop one Earthquake spell on the defenses, then activate the Dragon Duke ability — the Flame Blower and Rocket Backpack will clear the first compartment
  3. Use the remaining two Earthquake spells and three Lightning spells on whatever the Rocket Backpack weakens to finish off key defenses
  4. Send in the Warden with Healers to set the initial funnel
  5. Deploy Throwers and the Queen on one side, RC on the other to complete the funnel
  6. Drop Ruin Witches behind the Throwers — not near defenses, let the Throwers create rubble first
  7. Place Overgrowth on the Monolith and Fire Spitter section to neutralize them and open a cleaner path
  8. Use the Skeleton spell on the Monolith to distract it and free up the push
  9. Freeze any Fire Spitters or Inferno Towers dealing heavy damage to the army mid-push
  10. If there's a Revenge Tower at the back end, save a Freeze for it — it hits hard at full activation

Pro Tip: Never drop Ruin Witches directly near defenses — they'll get shredded before generating any value. One dead Ruin Witch early means up to 8 Ruin Knights lost for the entire attack. Keep them safe behind the Throwers and they'll keep spawning Knights all the way through the base. Also, pairing one Ruin Witch alongside the Queen is a strong move — the Knights tank for her and keep her alive deeper into the base.
