Chief!
The John Cena Challenge is one of the most exciting limited-time events in Clash of Clans — and whether you just want the three stars or you're chasing a spot on the global leaderboard, this guide has you covered.
Below is everything you need:
💡 How to unlock the challenge,
💡 What you're up against, and
💡 Five strategies ranging from a relaxed 2:15 clear all the way down to a competitive 58-second triple.
▶️ How to Unlock the John Cena Challenge
❗ You can't jump straight into the John Cena Challenge — you need a Challenger Contract first.
Here's how to get one:
- Open the events menu and find the Money in the Bank Rush event
- Attack any base in multiplayer and collect diamonds
- Contribute those diamonds toward your clan's event track
- As your clan progresses, you'll unlock WWE Chests to open
- The Challenger Contract can appear inside any of these chests
- Once you claim it, return to the John Cena Challenge — the attack button turns green and you're in
The contract isn't guaranteed from the first chest — keep contributing diamonds with your clanmates and opening chests until it drops. Once it does, the challenge is unlocked and you can attack John Cena's village.
John Cena's Base — What You're Up Against
Before picking a strategy, it helps to know what the base looks like and which defenses matter most.

The key threats are the Inferno Towers, Scattershots, Eagle Artillery, and the defending heroes — these are the defenses that will slow your push down or kill your troops if left unchecked. Kane is a special troop unique to this challenge that targets Inferno Towers specifically, making him central to most strategies.
The base also features Yeeters — each one enters with four Tribal Tag Team members alongside them. How and where you place your Yeeters has a bigger impact on your completion time than almost any other decision in the attack.
Strategy 1 — Safe Triple (2:15)

This is the most relaxed approach — no precise timing required, just patient spell usage and steady deployment.
- Deploy one Yeeter in each corner of the base — their Tribal Tag Team members will move forward and draw fire from the Expos
- Once the Expos are distracted, deploy the Yeti Undertaker from one side
- From the opposite side, send in the Giants and Kane
- Hold your spells — don't use anything immediately; wait until troops move deeper into the base
- Allow Kane to fall once — he'll automatically rise again and continue targeting defenses
- After he returns, support the push with Freeze, Rage, and Heal spells — Freeze the most dangerous defenses, Rage as troops enter high-damage areas, Heal whenever health starts dropping
- Continue supporting the push and the remaining troops will finish the base comfortably
Who this is for: Players who just want the three stars without any pressure. Timing doesn't matter here — patience and basic spell support are all you need.
Strategy 2 — Faster Triple with Early Rage (1:53)

Same core deployment as Strategy 1, but early Rage spells accelerate everything and cut nearly 20 seconds off the completion time.
- Deploy both Yeeters first
- Immediately use your first two Rage spells — this boosts the Yeeters, Giant, and Yeti Undertaker all at the same time while they're clearing their opening sections
- From one side, deploy the Giant toward the Expos — from the opposite side, send in the Yeti Undertaker
- Deploy Kane from the 12:00 section
- The early Rage value destroys the Eagle Artillery as quickly as possible and accelerates the entire opening phase
- As the attack continues, allow Kane to fall once — after he rises, support him and remaining troops with Heal and Freeze spells
- Freeze the strongest defenses before they deal too much damage, and Heal to keep the main group alive through the back end
Who this is for: Players who want a comfortable triple but faster. The only change from Strategy 1 is using Rage spells at the very start instead of saving them — a small adjustment with a meaningful time difference.
Strategy 3 — High Value Freeze (1:15)

This strategy introduces a key freeze trick that saves significant time by hitting multiple high-value targets with a single spell.
- Deploy the Yeeters near the enemy Barracks
- Deploy the Yeti Undertaker into the Expo section and support with an early Rage spell
- Wait for the right moment before deploying the Giant into the Town Hall section
- Place one Freeze spell carefully so it freezes the defending heroes and Scattershots at the same time — this is the key move that separates this strategy from the previous two
- While those defenses are frozen, support the Giant with a Rage spell and a Heal spell
- Deploy Kane immediately toward the Single Target Infernos — Freeze those Infernos before they lock onto him, then Heal to keep him moving
- Kane powers through one section while the Giant and Yeti Undertaker clear the remaining defenses from the other sides
Pro Tip: The high-value Freeze around the Town Hall section is everything in this strategy. By freezing multiple defending heroes and Scattershots with one spell, you save a huge amount of time. Practice the timing of that single Freeze until it consistently hits both targets.
Who this is for: Players comfortable with basic deployment who want to push toward a competitive time. The Freeze timing takes practice but the payoff is significant.
Strategy 4 — Optimized Deployment (1:13)

Only two seconds faster than Strategy 3 — but those two seconds demonstrate exactly how much deployment placement matters when competing for the leaderboard.
The key difference from Strategy 3: place both Yeeters directly in the corners instead of near the enemy Barracks. This allows their Tribal Tag Team members to start clearing the correct sections earlier.
- Place both Yeeters directly in the corners
- Do not use a Rage spell around the Eagle Artillery section — instead, concentrate Rage around the 6:00 section where the Giant and Kane will enter
- Use an early Rage spell on the Giant
- Place one precise Freeze spell to freeze the defending heroes and Scattershots together
- Immediately support the Giant with a Heal spell so he survives and clears this difficult section
- Allow Kane to fall once — after he rises, support him with another Rage spell and Heal spell
- The Giant and Kane power through the 6:00 section while the corner-placed Yeeters complete the top section without wasting time
Who this is for: Players actively competing for leaderboard position. The deployment change is subtle but the time saving is real — and at this level, two seconds is the difference between ranks.
Strategy 5 — The 58-Second Triple

This is the fastest strategy in the guide and the most demanding to execute. Every deployment, every spell, and every timing decision needs to be precise.
- Deploy both Yeeters slightly toward the inner sides of the base — not in the corners, not near the Barracks, but slightly inward
- Immediately place an early Rage spell around the Eagle Artillery section
- Deploy the Yeti Undertaker into that area
- Watch the defending heroes carefully — as soon as they move into the correct position, deploy the Giant and Freeze all of them together at that exact moment
- Immediately send in Kane right after the Freeze lands
- Support the Giant with a Rage spell followed by a Heal spell to keep him alive
- Place another Rage spell over Kane and support him with a Heal spell
- From here, the Giant and Kane clear the 6:00 section — the final time depends almost entirely on the Yeeters; correct placement means they clean up remaining outside buildings without wasting a second
Pro Tip: Pause the replay and watch every single deployment carefully before attempting this. The 58-second triple comes down to Yeeter placement, hero freeze timing, and rapid troop deployment all hitting perfectly in sequence. Practice the exact order multiple times — the more you repeat it, the faster and cleaner your execution becomes.
Who this is for: Competitive players chasing a top-100 leaderboard time. This strategy has no margin for error — but when it clicks, it's the fastest possible clear.
