Blizzard Lalo is Back! New TH17 Attack Strategy After June Update
We thought Lalo was falling off too. 🥲
Like, it’s 2025, we’ve got Crafting Station, Minion Prince — and Lalo still out here trying to act relevant?
But then the June update dropped.
And now? We’re officially back in our toxic relationship with Blizzard Lalo at Town Hall 17.
New Lava + Loon levels just made it smooth again. Like buttered elixir.
Let’s talk.
Why Lalo Was Mid (And Why It’s Not Anymore)
Okay, real talk. Lalo used to smack.
But then Clash decided to throw every air-hating trap into the mix.
Like:
-
97% destruction but all your loons died to some dumb poison tile? Classic.
-
Warden died because you fat-fingered ability? Relatable.
-
Rage towers melting troops like microwave popcorn? Been there.
But now?
-
New Balloon level = tankier + more damage
-
New Lava Hound level = better tanking + longer soak
-
Paired with the right setup, it’s giving vintage dominance again
Lalo isn’t just “viable” anymore.
It’s legit scary.
Wait, What Even Is Blizzard Lalo Attack Strategy?
If you’re new or returning: here’s the crash course.
Blizzard Lalo = you drop a blimp full of super wizards + support into a core area and delete it.
Then send in heroes for a “sui” (suicide dive) to clear more stuff.
Then you Lalo the rest.
It’s not “easy.” But also, it kind of is?
You just:
-
Blizzard out a chunk of base.
-
Hero dive the next chunk.
-
Loons clean up the leftovers like they’re speedrunning an elixir raid.
Done right = chef’s kiss 💋
Done wrong = your clan rethinks letting you for next war.
TH17 Blizzard Lavaloon Army Composition + Link 🔗
Here’s what people are using (flex depending on base):
Troops:
-
3 Lava Hounds
-
~26 Balloons (depends on your funnel)
-
4 Headhunters
-
1 Ice Golem
-
Couple cleanup troops (Gobs, Minions, etc.)
-
Super Wizards (in Blimp)
Spells:
-
1 Rage (for Blizzard)
-
1 Earthquake (for sniping low HP defenses)
-
Invis (2–3 depending on taste)
-
Haste x2–3
-
1–2 Freezes
-
Optionally a Poison if the base has funky CCs or Fire Spitters
Pets/Equipment That Work:
-
Diggy = MVP (basically a mobile Freeze)
-
Giant = Weirdly useful in front of Queen
-
Electro Boots = Try with RC if you’re spicy

▶️ 3 Reasons Blizzard Lavaloon Works at Town Hall 17 Again!
1. New Balloon + Lava Levels Are Kinda Busted
The June update didn’t just slap a coat of paint on them — they work now.
Loons survive longer. Hounds soak more. The cleanup isn’t as fragile.
You can:
-
Eat scattershots easier
-
Actually dive through Rage Towers (sometimes)
-
Keep headhunters alive to delete enemy heroes
Even if your Blizzard or Sui flops a bit, Lalo can bail you out. Sometimes.
2. Healers on Blizzard? Lowkey OP
Yeah, we thought it was weird too.
Healers on a Blizzard drop feels illegal… but it works.
Landing on a poison tile?
Dealing with Town Hall splash?
Healers say: nah, they’re fine. 😌
It’s a small twist that gives your Blizzard more value — or at least prevents insta-regret.
3. The Earthquake Spell Is Underrated
Nobody’s talking about this — but EQ is sneaky clutch.
Did your Blizzard almost take out a defense?
Did a Builder Hut heal something right as it was dying?
Drop a cheeky EQ.
Boom. Gone.
Also works with King’s Earthquake Boots or late cleanup if you’re desperate.
We’ve seen EQ save what looked like a garbage hit.
(Still barely 3-starred tho. But hey — a win’s a win.)
But It’s Not All Smooth — Let’s Be Honest
Look. Blizzard Lalo is still Blizzard Lalo.
That means:
-
It’s technical.
-
You can’t auto-pilot.
-
You will rage-quit after the queen dies with ability. 😤
We’ve whiffed a Sui so bad once, we watched our RC run in circles like she was looking for a friend.
Also:
-
Town Hall poison still ruins your loons if you’re not careful
-
Minion prince is the most annoying thing since the Builder Hut buff
-
If you pop Warden too early? GG.
So yeah. It’s not foolproof.
But it slaps hard enough to be meta again — if you’re not asleep at the wheel.
Quick Lalo Tips (From Fails, Not Just Wins)
-
Don't over-watch your Sui. Your loons need love too.
-
RC pathing > RC value. She’s not a solo artist, she’s part of a boy band.
-
Late Warden = sad loons. Pop it too slow and they’re all dead.
-
Spam cleanup MINIONS faster. Not at the end — right after Warden pops.
Also: If your Blizzard only funnels and doesn’t triple a compartment, don’t panic.
Just adjust the plan.
Like life. Or late war attacks.
So… Should We Be Using This in Legends?
Honestly? Yeah.
If:
-
You’re not afraid of making 1-2 dumb mistakes per hit
-
You like feeling like you earned that triple
-
You’re okay with lowkey stressing out over spell timing
Then Blizzard Lalo with the new update is stupidly satisfying.
Just, like… practice first. (or learn the shortcut in the next section)
Your clanmates will thank you.
Try it. Mess it up. Blame the game. Then try again.
That’s the Clash way. 😌
And if your Loons all die to a single Rage Tower again?
Same.
Let’s suffer together 💀
