Hey Chief,
The first 5 builders can be easily unlocked if you are smart in spending gems. But unlocking the 6th Builder sounds like one of those long, painful grinds that make you question your life choices. But once you get it, every upgrade in your main village feels way less stressful.
We’re walking you through everything — what to build, what not to waste time on, and how to speedrun Builder Hall 9 like pros who actually value sleep.
Step 1: Get the Bob Control Hut
The key to everything is the Bob Control Hut, unlocked at Builder Hall 9.
That’s your entry ticket to bringing Bob — your new 6th Builder — over to the Home Village.
To unlock Bob, you’ll need to complete four main tasks:
-
Gear up 3 defenses in the Home Village (Cannon, Archer Tower, Mortar).
-
Upgrade one troop to level 18.
-
Upgrade one defense to level 9.
-
Reach a combined hero level of 45 in the Builder Base.
Sounds like a lot, right? It is. But we’ll make it way smoother.
Step 2: Rush Smart (Not Reckless)
Here’s the thing — in the Builder Base, you don’t get punished for rushing. So instead of slowly maxing every little thing, we rush straight to Builder Hall 6.
Why? Because that’s when you unlock Otto, your second builder for the Builder Base. Once Otto’s ready, Bob isn’t too far behind.
A few quick hacks:
-
Use Raid Medals every week to buy 1M Builder Gold or Elixir from the Trader.
-
When attacking, drop your troops, force-close the app, and boom — your attack counts. (Yeah, that still works.)
-
The Builder Bank in the Season Pass? Free bonus loot. Don’t ignore it.
Step 3: What to Build (Every Builder Hall Level)
Let’s simplify the chaos. Here’s what to focus on at each level — skip the fluff, only build what matters.
Builder Hall 1 → 5
-
BH1: Upgrade the Hall instantly.
-
BH2: Buy Double Cannon, Archer Tower, Army Camp, Traps, Walls — then upgrade the Hall.
-
BH3: Get Storages, Tesla, Crusher, Firecrackers, etc. Upgrade storages to level 2 before upgrading the Hall.
-
BH4: Clock Tower first (trust us, it pays for itself in time). Then Guard Post, Air Bombs, and the rest.
-
BH5: Buy Double Cannon, Firecrackers, Multi Mortar, Walls. Storages to level 4, then push to BH6.
Pro tip: Don’t rebuild the Gem Mine yet. Wait till BH6. It’s not worth the delay early on.
Step 4: Builder Hall 6 — The Real Grind Starts
Welcome to BH6. You’ve now got Otto and the real chase begins.
Your to-do list:
-
Upgrade Baby Dragon nonstop to level 18.
-
Get Clock Tower to level 6 (and upgrade it at every new BH level).
-
Unlock the Battle Machine and push it to level 15+ ASAP.
-
Keep upgrading your Star Laboratory and storages so you’re not stuck waiting for capacity.
Also, Army Camps first — more troops = faster farming. Don’t overthink it.
Step 5: BH7–9 Building Order (The Shortcut Version)
To make life easier:
-
BH6: Crusher, Roaster, Army Camp, Healing Hut.
-
BH7: Cannon, Tesla, Firecrackers, Giant Cannon, Army Camp.
-
BH8: Double Cannon, Mega Tesla, Gold Mine, Elixir Collector, Battle Copter (auto starts at level 15).
-
BH9: Bob Control Hut. Nothing else is really required, so don’t waste time.
Step 6: The Final Requirements (Don’t Miss These)
Here’s what finishes the job:
Gear Ups (Home Village):
-
Cannon → Level 7 → Gear up
-
Archer Tower → Level 10 → Gear up
-
Mortar → Level 8 → Gear up
Defensive Upgrade (Builder Base):
-
Multi Mortar → Level 9 (done!)
Troop Requirement:
-
Baby Dragon → Level 18
Hero Levels:
-
Battle Machine → Level 23
-
Battle Copter → Level 22
Make sure your storages can handle all that:
-
Gold Storages → Level 8
-
Elixir Storages → One Level 7, one Level 6 (for 4.7M Gold and 3.5M Elixir cap).
Step 7: Speeding Up the Grind (Magic Items Are Your Friends)
We all know it — waiting weeks for one upgrade sucks. So use your magic items smartly:
-
Book of Building: Use on the Multi Mortar gear up (it saves 2 weeks).
-
Book of Fighting: Great for Star Lab upgrades 8 → 9.
-
Book of Heroes: Use on Battle Machine (20–23) and Copter (16–22).
-
Clock Tower Potions: Save them for BH6+, once you’ve got 2 builders working.
So… How Long Does It Take?
For most of us? 5–6 months, give or take.
With the Gold Pass and consistent play, that’s totally doable. Without it… well, double that maybe.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint — but unlocking the 6th Builder changes everything. You’ll be upgrading like crazy while your friends are still crying over a full queue.
Honestly, the first few weeks are the hardest. But once you see that extra builder hammering away in your main village? Worth every rage quit.
💪 Now go get that 6th Builder, your Town Hall deserves it.
