Sneak Peek 1: New Ice Block Spell, Troop Levels & Balance Changes!

Freeze your own army on purpose? Yup, with Ice Block Spell. Plus, new levels, balance tweaks, and the new Cookbook feature make this a sneak peek worth checking out.

Alright, Chiefs.

Let’s talk about what just landed in the Day 1 sneak peek of June update . There's a new spell, a bunch of level upgrades, some surprisingly useful quality-of-life fixes, and yes — something called a Cookbook. We'll get to that.

Let’s keep it simple and get straight into it 👇

▶️ New Spell: Ice Block

Okay, this one’s weird — in a good way.

The Ice Block spell freezes your own troops. They stop moving, stop attacking… but also take almost zero damage while they’re frozen. Basically:

  • Throw it on your troops → they freeze → defenses get baited

  • Meanwhile, the rest of your army keeps pushing forward

  • It’s a freeze spell... but for distraction rather than control

It unlocks at Dark Spell Factory lvl 7 (TH14) and takes 1 housing space, so it’s super slot-efficient.
Radius is about the same as Recall.

It’s got 5 upgrade levels — 2 at TH14, then one per TH after that. Each level gives better protection while frozen.

Is it game-changing? Maybe not overnight.
Is it clever and situationally genius? Yeah, actually.

📈 New Troop & Siege Levels

As expected, some old units just hit the gym again. Here’s what’s getting swole:

Druid 5 TH17
Battle Blimp 5 TH15
Frosty 11–15 TH17

Also, all Level 18 wall pieces are now unlockable. You can stop hoarding gold like a dragon — it’s finally time to finish the job.

⚖️ Balance Changes

A few adjustments that make things smoother and more consistent:

  • Ice Hound’s freeze duration is now uniform across levels

    • Level 1 went from 3.5s → 3.75s

  • Grand Warden’s Eternal Tome got some love:

    • +0.2s duration across the board

    • Units now stay immune for 1 second after leaving his aura

    • Also buffs any troops that enter the aura mid-cast

Small tweaks, but they’ll matter — especially in tight attack windows.

Also, early-game troops and buildings got adjusted to speed up low-TH battles. Faster pace, less slog. Good change.

🔧 Quality of Life Buffs (aka “finally, thank you”)

A few genuinely helpful tweaks dropped in this update — not just fluff:

  • Change Hero skins straight from the Training Screen

  • Rotate Heroes in 3D, just like in the Hero Hall

  • Drag to reorder Heroes, Troops, or Spells in your lineup

  • That order now sticks in battle too (finally)

  • Alerts/warnings are now clearer and more specific

  • Builder Base Elixir Cart holds more loot

  • Trader Shop now previews scenery before you buy — and hides stuff you already own

Some of these should’ve existed years ago, but hey — we’ll take it.

🍳 New Feature: The Cookbook

No, not an actual cookbook — although the name’s not far off.

A third tab has been added to the Training screen called the Army Recipe Cookbook. Think of it as Clash’s answer to pre-built loadouts.

  • Starter Armies (basic comps, no Super Troops, just regular stuff)

  • Featured/Creator Armies (more advanced, sometimes broken, often temporary)

It unlocks at TH4, but the Featured ones start showing up from TH10+.

You can save, edit, or just use them as-is. It’s a solid way to test new ideas without manually dragging every troop into the lineup like it’s 2016.

🧼 Random Other Stuff

  • Added Polish language support 🇵🇱

  • You can now run 2v2 and 3v3 Friendly Wars

  • Grand Warden Fireball & Tornado Trap got updated visuals

  • Hero info screen hides regen time now

  • Factories now animate properly if you’ve built the relevant unit

Not flashy, but all clean additions.

Expect Sneak Peek 2 to land soon, and from the way this one’s shaping up, there’s probably more than just spell tweaks on the horizon.
