Hey Chief,
The wait’s over!
The Sneak Peek #1 of the Town Hall 18 update is here, and it’s bringing some game-changing features. Let’s break it down.
Town Hall 18 Weapon: Meet the Guardians
At TH18, the Town Hall gets a major twist.
Instead of the usual weapon like a Giga Inferno or Poison Bomb, TH18 introduces Guardians — powerful protectors that defend your base in a whole new way.
Here’s what you need to know:
-
The Town Hall no longer counts as a Defense, so troops won’t target it like before.
-
Guardians only defend — they can’t be used for attacking.
-
You can upgrade Guardians directly from a special menu inside the Town Hall. These upgrades use a Builder.
-
While a Guardian is upgrading, it won’t defend in regular attacks, but it will still defend in Wars and Ranked battles.
-
You can switch between two Guardians — Longshot and Smasher — using a toggle button on the Town Hall.
-
Tap the Guardian when viewing your village to see its patrol route.
Smasher
-
Type: Melee Guardian
-
Targets: Ground & Air
-
Deals splash damage
-
When destroyed, it drops a Rage effect on the battlefield
-
Gets enraged if the Town Hall is destroyed

Longshot
-
Type: Ranged Guardian
-
Targets: Ground & Air
-
Deals splash damage
-
Explodes on defeat

Meteor Golem
Remember the Meteor Golem from the October update? It’s no longer temporary — it’s now a permanent troop.
Here’s how it works:
-
Unlocks with the new Barracks level (available at TH17)
-
Has 3 upgrade levels: two at TH17 and one more at TH18
-
Its Totem doesn’t open Clan Castle troops or trigger traps
-
The Totem isn’t affected by Ice Block, Clone, or Recall Spells
-
If the spell lands in the middle of a building, the Totem will spawn beside it

Merged Defence: Super Wizard Tower
Two Wizard Towers can now merge into a single Super Wizard Tower — and it’s strong.
-
It hits one troop, then chains the attack to up to 15 others
-
Has a range of 8 tiles, which is one more than a normal Wizard Tower
-
Comes with 2 upgrade levels

Gameplay Changes
-
Minion Prince now has 1000 less HP, but each of his equipment pieces adds +1000 HP.
→ This change helps balance the defensive version of Minion Prince. -
Level 7 Clans can now donate 1 extra spell, meaning you can donate up to 4 spells with all perks unlocked.
Economy Updates
-
Upgrade times and costs have been reduced for many upgrades in TH16 and TH17.
-
Added min and max loot values for TH18 Chest drops (Gold, Elixir, Dark Elixir).
-
Added Ranked Battle loot, League, and Star Bonus values for TH18.
-
You can find the full price adjustment list in the November Update Price Changes post.
Clan War League Shop Changes
A small but notable tweak —
-
The Resource Potion now costs 10 CWL Medals, up from 5.
The devs mentioned this as part of a long-term plan to make CWL rewards feel more meaningful. Instead of stockpiling medals, the idea is to encourage players to use them throughout their journey for better progression.
... Day 1 of the TH18 sneak peeks already sets the tone — a redefined defense system, a permanent Meteor Golem, and some solid quality-of-life changes.
Stay tuned for the next reveals — it looks like TH18 is going to completely change how we defend.
