Hey Chief,
Sneak Peek #2 of the TH18 update dives into the new Revenge Tower defense, the Totem Spell, an overhaul to Crafted Defenses, and the launch of the all-new Fancy Shop with Sparky Stones.
Check out Sneak Peek #1 if you missed those awesome changes.
Here’s everything that’s changing and why it matters.
Revenge Tower
The Revenge Tower gets angrier and more powerful as your village takes damage.
It starts completely silent but grows into a deadly defense as more buildings fall.

Here’s how it evolves during battle:
-
0 buildings destroyed: Tower is inactive — doesn’t attack.
-
5 buildings destroyed: Becomes active — single target, high damage, slower attack.
-
20 buildings destroyed: Faster attacks that bounce to a second target.
-
40 buildings destroyed: Very fast attack speed, and hits up to 3 targets with bounces.
In short — the more your base gets wrecked, the stronger the Revenge Tower becomes.
Totem Spell
The new Totem Spell adds a clever twist to spell strategy.
When used, it spawns a giant tanky Totem at the target location — one that both ground and air defenses can attack.
Here’s what makes it unique:
-
When deployed, the spell lightly damages and stuns nearby buildings and defensive troops once.
(This often forces defenses to retarget toward the Totem.) -
The Totem has ~10,000 HP, making it insanely tanky.
-
It’s counted as a troop and stays until destroyed.
-
Radius: 6 tiles — decent area for that stun and damage.
-
The Totem can be hit by Cannons, Air Defenses, etc.
-
It doesn’t trigger Rage or Poison Spell Towers.
Unlocks at TH16 with the new Spell Factory level and has 4 levels total:
-
2 at TH16
-
1 at TH17
-
1 at TH18
It’s a great tool for distraction, tanking, or retargeting defenses, especially for Queen Charges or air-heavy attacks.
Crafted Defenses – Season 2
A new Crafted Defense season is here — bringing three brand-new defensive buildings and a full reset of the old system.
What’s Changing
-
Old Crafted Defenses are being replaced.
-
Players at TH17 will no longer have access to Crafted Defenses.
-
Ongoing upgrades will be refunded automatically.
-
The new season will last 4 months instead of 3.
New Crafted Defenses
1. Hero Bell
-
Buffs defensive Heroes’ HP and DPS.
-
Doesn’t attack itself — works like a support building.
-
When destroyed, Hero boosts disappear.
-
Upgrade modules: Building HP, Hero HP, Hero DPS.
2. Light Beam
-
Single-target defense that hits both ground and air.
-
Deals more damage at close range, less if the target is far.
-
Upgrade modules: Building HP, Damage per Hit, Attack Cooldown.
3. Bomb Hive
-
Splash-damage defense targeting both ground and air.
-
Fires bombs in fixed directions until they hit a target or reach max range.
-
Upgrade modules: Building HP, Damage per Hit, Range.
These new Crafted Defenses add more strategy to base design — offering different styles of support and area control.
Fancy Shop & Sparky Stones
A new in-game store tab, called the Fancy Shop, lets players spend Sparky Stones — a currency earned from temporary or seasonal upgrade systems.
Who Gets Access
Anyone who’s completed Supercharge or Seasonal Defense upgrades already has Sparky Stones and can access the shop.
How to Earn Sparky Stones
-
Supercharge upgrades: +10 Sparky Stones each
-
Crafted Defense module upgrades: +8 Sparky Stones each
What You Can Buy
The Fancy Shop (found in the second-to-last build tab) includes:
-
Meteor Builder Skin – one-time purchase
-
Exclusive Home Village Decoration – one-time purchase
-
Charge Effect – can be applied to any decoration multiple times
When you tap a shop card, it’ll highlight which decorations can use the Charge Effect.
Meteor Builder Skin
After purchasing it, players can pick between the original or Meteor Builder Skin for their Builder Huts.
Right now, it applies to all builders at once, but in the future, players will be able to skin individual builders.
All builders are now fully 3D-rendered, just like Heroes and Guardians.
SuperCharge’s Charge Effect
-
To apply, tap any decoration → “Add Effect.”
-
Once applied, it can’t be removed (yet).
-
The effect syncs with your Supercharge visuals in the village for that extra spark.
Ranked Improvements
Temporary Troops Banned
Temporary troops are now banned from Ranked Battles, Clan Wars, and CWL.
New Inactivity Rules
Players who skip Ranked Battles for one week will keep their League and bonuses for that week.
But to avoid demotion, they must sign up for the next tournament before it begins (Tuesday 5 a.m. UTC).
If you still haven’t signed up by Friday 5 a.m. UTC, a warning will appear saying you’re at risk of demotion.
Matchmaking inside weekly tournaments is now less predictable, and some promotion/demotion percentages have been rebalanced.
